Sonoma Gymnastics Academy has an Xcel team! Xcel is an alternative USA Gymnastics competitive program offering individual flexibility to coaches and gymnasts. The goal of Xcel is to provide gymnasts of varying abilities and commitment levels the opportunity for a rewarding gymnastics experience. Our coaches seek to push our young athletes to the best of their abilities while creative a fun, encouraging, and inclusive environment.
There are five divisions of Xcel: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond. We have gymnasts competing at these levels throughout the year, and welcome the inclusion of new talent into our program. Practices: Monday, Wednesday, Friday (5:00-8:00 PM)
Our demonstration team travels to local events within the community to show the skills and artistry they have learned in our classes. With weekly practices, we’ll rehearse a short program and hone new abilities with the goal of artistry and outreach rather than competition. The Demo Team is open to Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced gymnasts. This program is ideal for those who want a low-pressure way of performing gymnastics without the travel and time requirements of a competitive team.
